Safari in Nyerere National Park and Mikumi National Park is probably the most classic safari in the southern Circuit of Tanzania. You will be picked up from your hotel/lodge at Dar es Salaam early in the morning of this day around 05:00 AM and start a safari to Mikumi National Park. Nyerere NP has over 350 bird species and the river is the place where they congregate in great numbers and are easily seen in the open environment, Mikumi NP is also the best experience.

Tour Itinerary

Day 1: Dar es salaam to Mikumi National Park

Depart very early in the morning at 05:00 AM from Dar es Salaam via Morogoro and Chalinze with picnic lunch on your way then continue with drive to Mikumi NP for 5 or 6 hours. On arrival check in and then advance with full day game drive, game viewing at Mikumi national takes you to the beautiful species of animals and birds. Due to its Savannah plain animals at Mikumi NP are easily accessed and it’ll take you 4 to 5 hours to finish a game in Mikumi national park; accommodation will be at Bastian camp.

Day 2: Maasai Tour then Drive to Nyerere National Park

After early morning breakfast, visit the traditional Maasai tribe at Mikumi National Park to 08:40 AM then drive to Nyerere National Park, you will have picnic lunch on the way and it takes 7 to 8 hours’ drive to this great Park in Tanzania. Enjoy the view of most unexplored and untouched areas in Tanzania, then dinner and overnight at African safari camp.

Day 3: Boat Tour Then Back to Dar es Salaam.

You’ll have early morning breakfast at the camp and soon after breakfast you will have a boat safari for 2 to 3 hours in the morning. After boat safari you will return back to the camp and start your way to Dar es Salaam.
