Tour Overview

This vast area, which used to be a hunting ground for Europeans during the 1800s, is home to members of many different tribes, peacefully co-existing as neighbors. Although the game has long since migrated, it is still a haven to many animal species, including a variety of birds. When you reach Kikuletwa it will appear as an oasis surrounded by sprawling fig trees, in the middle of this semi arid landscape. You will see crystal clear water bubbling from underground caves, giving the impression that it is boiling, hence the name “Hot-springs”.

The water is perfectly refreshing and if you brought your bathing suit, this is your time to take a dip and relax in the shade of the trees. After a picnic lunch we will start making our way back to Moshi via back gravel roads, taking you past the Kilavu river and sugar cane plantations about 30 minutes prior to arriving back in Moshi late afternoon.

Day 1 :Moshi to Kikuletwa / Chemka Hot Springs

45 minutes from Moshi, – Tanzania
The drive will initially start on paved road toward Arusha, before turning left onto gravel road about 30 minutes later. The road will take you thru gorgeous African country side past bush land, dry riverbeds, baobab and acacia trees among many others.

 Verified The secret of a perfect holiday - 9 Days Safari + 6 Days Beach in Tanzania + Zanzibar!
The game drive through the northern circuit with our guide and driver Ben was an unique and unforgettable experience. He showed us animals and plants we would have never seen on our own - he brought us at the right time to the right places. My favorites were the hippos in the Serengeti! The beachholiday and all excursions at Zanzibar organised Agness with her local guides to our fullest contentedness. I loved most the breathtaking boatride to Mnemba-Island and our picnic on a sandbank in the ocean. Important to us were also the cultural and historical sites like the "cultural heritage center/african art gallery" and the "national natural history museum" at Arusha. All campsites and lodges chosen by Aggrey and his company were very comfortable, clean and the staff was friendly and competent. Thanks to Aggrey we could enjoy our holiday in 2021 - althought we booked for 2020. Particulary noteworthy is the special and reliable service for all measures and requirements due to the corona pandemic! My favorite part of the experience was the game ride. The guides were very friendly, professional too and took alot of time giving details and even gave us secret words they used for animal names and people too!
